Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 60 ml Vegetable oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Celery stalks
  • 2 litres Chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 120 g Matzo meal
  • 1 Fresh dill for garnish
  • 1 Pepper to taste

Instructions

    Beat eggs with vegetable oil. Stir in matzo meal and salt. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    Form the matzo mixture into walnut-sized balls with wet hands.

    Drop matzo balls into boiling water. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

    In a separate pot, heat chicken broth. Add carrots, celery, and onion. Simmer for 20 minutes.

    Transfer cooked matzo balls to the broth. Serve garnished with fresh dill.
