Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 300 g Flour
  • 100 g Cold butter
  • 200 ml Cold buttermilk

Instructions

    Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

    Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    Add buttermilk, stir until just combined.

    Turn out, pat to 1-inch thick. Cut rounds.

    Place on baking sheet, touching for soft sides.

    Bake at 220°C for 12-15 minutes until golden.

    Serve warm with butter and jam.
