Ingredients

  • 1 Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Onion
  • 500 ml Beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 4 Carrots
  • 4 Potatoes
  • 1 Fresh thyme and rosemary
  • 4 Stalks celery
  • 1.5 kg Beef chuck roast

Instructions

    Season roast generously. Brown on all sides in Dutch oven.

    Remove roast. Sauté onion briefly.

  3. 3

    Add tomato paste, stock and herbs. Return roast.

  4. 4

    Cover and braise at 150°C for 2.5 hours.

    Add carrots, potatoes and celery.

  6. 6

    Continue cooking 1 hour until vegetables are tender.

  7. 7

    Slice roast, serve with vegetables and gravy.
