Ingredients

  • 2 Onion
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1.5 kg Sauerkraut
  • 4 Pork chops
  • 4 Strasbourg sausages
  • 4 Smoked sausages
  • 200 g Smoked bacon
  • 500 ml Riesling wine
  • 10 Juniper berries
  • 1 Potatoes for serving

Instructions

    Layer sauerkraut, onions, apples, juniper and bay leaves in a Dutch oven.

    Nestle bacon and pork chops into sauerkraut.

  3. 3

    Pour wine over. Cover tightly.

  4. 4

    Bake at 150°C for 2.5 hours.

    Add sausages in last 30 minutes.

    Boil potatoes.

    Serve sauerkraut mounded on a platter with meats and potatoes.
