Ingredients

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Onion
  • 200 g Cheddar cheese
  • 500 g Shortcrust pastry
  • 1 large Potato

    Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6.

    Boil the potato for 5 minutes. Drain well.

    In a bowl, mix together the potato, onion, and cheese. Season well.

    Divide the pastry into four. Roll out each piece into a circle.

    Spoon the filling onto one half of each pastry circle.

    Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg.

  7. 7

    Fold the other half of the pastry over and crimp the edges to seal.

  8. 8

    Brush the pasties with beaten egg and make a small slit in the top.

    Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
