Ingredients

  • 50 g Caster sugar
  • 100 g Butter
  • 200 g Plain flour
  • 900 g Bramley apples
  • 0 For the crumble topping:
  • 100 g Demerara sugar

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5.

    Place the apples in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle with the caster sugar.

    For the crumble topping, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

    Stir in the demerara sugar.

    Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.

    Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.

    Serve with custard or ice cream.
