Ingredients

  • 1 cup Self-raising flour
  • 1 Vegetable oil
  • 4 White fish fillets (e.g. flathead
  • 1 cup Beer
  • 4 Large potatoes
  • 1 Lemon wedges
  • 1 Tartare sauce

Instructions

    For the chips, cook in a deep fryer or large saucepan of hot oil until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towel.

    For the batter, whisk together the flour and beer in a bowl until smooth.

    Dip the fish fillets in the batter to coat.

    Carefully lower the fish into the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes each side, until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towel.

    Serve the fish and chips with lemon wedges and tartare sauce.
